“How to apply Reflective Heat transfer tape XM-6007C to a workwear jacket»”.
All you need is an iron and a plain surface, then you just follow our step by step instructions.
Heat transfer reflectives can be applied to 100% Cotton, Poly-cotton or 100% Polyester fabric, you just need to be careful with the temperature of the iron in case of 100% Polyester clothing and add some extra piece of cloth between the iron and the garment.
Step 0. Please check if the reflective heat transfer tape or film has a dark-blue film, which covers the reflective layer. Then you need to peel off this dark-blue film and underneath the film you can see the Main side, which goes to face down to the fabric.
Step 1. Prepare a flat area to accommodate the clothing or fabric on which you want to fix the reflective tape.
Step 2. Turn on the iron and set the temperature in the middle mode. Iron the place of the fabric where you would like to place the reflective material.
Step 3. Put the reflective trim with the main side down to the fabric. Then you have its back side with protective liner looking at you.
Step 4. If you apply the reflective tape on synthetic fabric, we recommend using an extra cloth or paper, which is necessary to cover the tape and the adjacent areas of fabric in order to avoid contact of the iron with the fabric and possible damage at high temperatures. Remember that all irons are different, so it’s better to test with a small piece of heat transfer tape applying to the corner of the fabric.
Step 5. Apply the reflective tape, pressing the iron to the fabric. It required about 10-15 seconds of pressure to achieve the desired result. Be careful not to overheat the tape.
Step 6. After gluing the tape let it cool down for 10-15 seconds.
Step 7. Once the tape is bonded and cooled, carefully remove the opposite plastic liner of reflective tape. Remove it off by slowly and slightly pulling.
Step 8. Cover the reflective tape you have just transferred to the fabric with a piece of cloth or paper and iron the spot again for 2-3 seconds.
Step 9. Remove the iron. Remove the light cloth or paper that you used.
Step 10. Congratulations, you have just done it! You have made your clothing unique, cool and more safe, enjoy!
